Fact of the day:

It's impossible for pigs to look up at the sky while they are standing up! They can only look at the sky when they are laying on their backs!



Start your day off with some exercise. Choose either to follow the Joe Wicks live workout or a yoga routine from the Cosmic Kids Yoga link!



Reading for at least 20 minutes today, independently or to an adult. Don't forget, you can still quiz on books at home!


Today we are going to consolidate our learning of equivalent fractions. 

As we looked at yesterday, we know that equivalent fractions are fractions which are different but are equal in value. 


Have a look at the 2 worksheets below.

Today I would like you to work through the following questions in your purple books:

Equivalent fractions 2 - questions 1-4

Equivalent fractions 3 - aim to answer all questions


Today you are carrying on with your diary entry. Yesterday you should have written your first 2 paragraphs, each about a different activity you did during the holiday. 

Today, you are writing the next 2 paragraphs, each about a different activity. 

Go back to your plan to remind yourself of those activities. You can start your writing where you left off yesterday. Remember, leave 2 lines when you are starting a new paragraph. 


Success Criteria - try to tick off all the following things in your writing:

  • Capital letters, full stops and finger spaces
  • Adjectives
  • Adverbs
  • Conjunctions (and, but, so, because, which)
  • Similes
  • Alliteration
  • Prepositions (behind, next to, above, below)
  • Time connectives (first, last, next, then, after that, suddenly, finally) 


Please try to push yourself with your writing. Try to write that extra sentence, aim to include lots of different conjunctions, you might even strive to put in a subordinate clause. Aim high year 3!



Our topic has lots of links with PSHCE. Today, we are going to think about the benefits physical activity and time spent outside has on our mental health as well as our physical health.


When we talk about mental health, we are thinking about our emotional wellbeing and all of our feelings. We know that being in different situations can make us feel lots of different emotions. We have previously discussed how 2 people in the same situation, may feel very different emotions. 


Attached below is some information about the benefits of physical activity and being outdoors. Read this through carefully and be sure to ask an adult if you have any questions. 





This afternoon, I would like you to make a poster to inform people of the benefits of physical activity and being outdoors for our mental health. You can present this as you wish, however, you should make sure you have all the important information on your poster. 

Make it nice and colourful, eye-catching and include some pictures.
