Fact of the day:

Fish can cough! 

 

PE:

Start your day off with some exercise. Choose either to follow the Joe Wicks live workout or a yoga routine from the Cosmic Kids Yoga link!

 

Reading:

Reading for at least 20 minutes today, independently or to an adult. Don't forget, you can still quiz on books at home!

 

Maths:

Today, we are going to look at the last 2 hand positions on the clock: ten to and five to. 

 

Look at the clock below. It shows ten to 7. 

We say ten to because there are 10 minutes until that hour. 

So when it is ten to 7, there are 10 minutes until it is 7 o'clock. 

The big hand is on the 10. The little hand is just before the 7. It cannot be on the 7 yet because it is not 7 o'clock yet!

Now let's think about five to. 

 

Have a look at the clock below. It shows the time five to 2. 

We say five to because there are 5 minutes until that hour. 

So when it is five to 2, there are five minutes until 2 o'clock.

The big hand is on the 11 and the small hand is just before the 2. 

I'm sure you can guess what we are going to do now...

Get your clocks out and we will play another game of show me the time! Remember, practice makes perfect!

Activity 1:

Write the times that the 3 clocks show.

 

 

Activity 2:

For each time, draw out a clock and draw the hands on so that it shows the correct time. 

English:

Today we are going to look at plurals. We use plurals when there is more than 1 of something. Watch this video to learn about different ways we change singulars to plurals (You will have come across all of these before).

You are now going to turn singulars to plurals yourself. 

In the document below is a paragraph. They have given you the singular in the sentence, you need to make the word into a plural.

Your task today is to retell the story of Pentecost! 

If you can borrow an adult's phone, then you can create a video. If you don't have access to a phone, you can act it out to your family. 

You can retell this however you would like. You might use:

  • Lego
  • Teddy bears
  • Barbies
  • People in your family!

 

Be creative, but remember the purpose is to retell the story of Pentecost - don't miss out any details!
