Tuesday 2nd June

Fact of the day:

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was Disney's first animated, full-length movie. Before this, he had only produced short cartoons.

Start your day off with some exercise. Choose either to follow the Joe Wicks live workout or a yoga routine from the Cosmic Kids Yoga link!

Reading for at least 20 minutes today, independently or to an adult. Don't forget, you can still quiz on books at home!

Our focus today is going to be right angles.

We know that an angle is formed when two lines meet.

There are different types of angle. A right angle looks like this:

Today you are going to do a reading comprehension. This is all about caring for a guinea pig!

In the document below, there are 3 different levels of reading comprehension. It starts with the easiest comprehension, then a middle level one and then the hardest one.

For each level you will find:

  • The text they need to read in order to answer the questions
  • The questions they need to answer
  • The answers to that levels questions

All of these resources are together before the next level of reading comprehension.

Today, we are going to be thinking about when, why and how we would phone the emergency services.

Watch this video:

Teaching children how to call 999 in an emergency with Lookout Lion

Created in partnership with Staffordshire Fire & Rescue and West Midlands Ambulance Services.

So, when do we need to call 999? It's your job today to work out when!

When we call 999, we tell the person on the phone whether we need the police, the ambulance or the fire service.

I would like you to make a table, like the one below, and fill in reasons for calling 999. I have given you an example for each service. You can do some research if you run out of reasons.
