Today marks 484 years since Anne Boleyn was beheaded by her husband Henry VIII. Henry VIII had changed the whole country just so he could marry Anne Boleyn, but he soon got fed up of her! See below to find out about how she was treated. What do you think?
YEAR FIVE, ONLY SIX PEOPLE IN OUR YEAR GROUP HAVE REACHED THEIR TARGETS.
This isn't great. I know you can all do so much better than this! So as well as answering these questions, please have at least 30 minutes of reading time today. Year six are currently BEATING us and Mr English may have sent me an email telling me how AWESOME Year 6 are.

Chapter 8- We Capture a Flag
1) Why are the counsellors having a hard time deciding who Percy’s Olympian parent is?
2) In capture-the-flag, why does Percy feel like he’s being left out of the action?
3) Why does Annabeth make Percy stand in the water?
4) When you find out Percy’s true identity, are you surprised or did you see it coming? What clues were given earlier in the book?
This week I would like you to think about the mythological creature you created for your task yesterday afternoon! You have now designed your own creature, now you need to think of how to describe it and even if possible to write a myth all about it...
Today I would like you to plan a piece of writing, this means gathering ideas, language and vocabulary linked to your creature.
Think about figurative language such as metaphors and similes.
Below is a mind map template but you could make your own with the name of your creature in the middle. Gather plenty of ideas in it!

As we grow older we gain more rights to do things, however this also means that our responsibilities also get bigger and more important.
One of my favourite quotes is by a superhero by the name of Spiderman, his uncle once told him this:
"With great power, comes great responsibility"
I would like you to think about the responsibilities that come with the growing freedoms you get as a 9 or 10 year old.
Think about what you are allowed to do now (or would be if we weren't on Lockdown) compared to what you could do two years ago. On the grid below have a go at filling in some of the information, thinking about what you are now allowed to do but the responsibilities that means you have.
These could be: walking home from school, going to the park, going shopping, having your own electronic devices etc.
