You might like to start your day with the Joe Wicks workout on YouTube.

If you prefer, you could try something more relaxing.

Today in class we will be starting our day with the Squish the Fish yoga session.

Squish the Fish | A Cosmic Kids Yoga Adventure!

As we start this term, we start our new topic in RE- Being Sorry.

In this topic, we will talk about choice-sometimes we choose well, and sometimes wrongly. But God helps us to choose well and to be sorry when we choose wrongly. God forgives us.

Activity One

Listen to the story 'I'm Sorry' by Sam McBratney.

I'm Sorry! By Sam McBratney

Discuss the story

What happens as a consequence?

Talk about the situations where we have to choose what to do and how sometimes we make good choices- good for others and for ourselves- and sometimes we make wrong choices which make others and ourselves unhappy.

Activity Two

Look at the picture in the file below and then discuss the key questions.

Key Questions

What do you think has happened in the picture?

How do you think the boy and the girl feel? How do you know?

What choice has the girl made?

What do you think happens next?

When have you had to make choices like that?

What good choices have you made? How did you feel?

What happens when you make a wrong choice? How did you feel, then? How can you try to make it right?

Independent Task

There are two options for today's work. Please choose the option that is best suited for your child. Please only complete one activity.

Option One

Look at the pictures in the file below. Talk about what is going on in each picture and decide if the people are making good choices or not so good choices. Sort the pictures into two groups.

Option Two

Think about the choices you have made. Can you think of a good choice you made? Can you think of a not so good choice you made? Draw a picture and write a sentence of a good choice you have made and a not so good choice you have made.

Extension- Can you write how you felt when you made those choices?

If you do not want to print out the page below, the work can be completed straight into your workbook.

Continue to learn your spellings, ready for your quiz on Friday.

Your spellings this week focus on adding the suffix- y

spot- spotty

fun- funny

run- runny

mud- muddy

sun- sunny

dad- daddy

Today we are going to focus on 'ow'.

Here is a phonics game to play.

Focus on the 'ow' sound.

Below there are also a selection of sheets that focus on the reading or writing of the focus sound. Select one that you feel is appropriate for your child.

Read Write Inc- Phonics lesson of the day

You might also like to watch the new, daily Ruth Miskin phonics lesson- they focus on a different sound each day.

Continue to practice the letter formation of the 'zig zag' letters: v w x z.

If your child is starting these letters in the correct position (the top of the letter) then they can begin to start working on the pre-cursive letter formation and start their letters on the line. Refer to the PowerPoint below for the correct formation of the letters.

Please try to read for at least 10 minutes at some point today. Here are the links for the usual websites:

Today in maths we will be thinking about patterns with 2-D shapes and 3-D shapes. Here is the video:

Afternoon session- PSHCE/RE- Decision making

Everyday we make decisions- What will I have for breakfast? What game will I play on the computer? Who will I play with at school?

Watch the short video below about making decisions.

Decisions Can Be HARD! | FUZZABOOM (Kids Puppet Show)

Below there are number of different scenarios where you need to make a difficult decision. Read through the scenarios and discuss what the correct decision to make would be and why.

If you want, you can record one of your ideas in your workbook.

End of the day- Peace out session

Go on an adventure in your mind- meditate and relax as you listen and let your imagination go...
