Thursday 30th April
Good morning Year One! We are nearly at the end of week two. Here is your work for today.
What will you do for exercise today? You might like to start your day with the Joe Wicks workout on YouTube or if you fancy something different, why don't you try this warm up song?
RE- Holy Days
The word holiday comes from holyday. In times past, the only holiday anyone had was a saint's feast day or important feast days like Easter and Christmas.
Some days of the year are 'holy days', when we celebrate these special times in the Church's year. We have just celebrated the feast of Easter when we remember Jesus rising from the dead. Christmas is another holy day when we remember the birth of Jesus. The church celebrates some days as holy days e.g. the patron saint of the school, Good Friday, Ash Wednesday and the Ascension etc.
Look at the following words in the song, 'Holy days and Holidays.'
Continue to work on recalling your spellings: fire, spire, wire, hear, fear, spear, school, house ready for a quiz tomorrow.
Today we will revise: a-e- make a cake and i-e- nice smile.
This week we have looked at the zig zag letters: v,w,x,z.
