Thursday 23rd April 2020

Welcome to your home learning for Thursday 23rd April 2020!

Here you will find your tasks for the day. If you have any worries or concerns, you know where to find me.

Fact of the day:

A cat has 32 muscles in each ear.

Joke of the day:

Q:How does the ocean say hello?
A:
It waves.

PE:

Will you decide to join Joe Wickes or have a go at some SuperMover songs?

Guided Reading:

I have been looking forward to finding out how the Iron Man will help! Read along with me to find out.

English:

Over the next two days, we will be writing a charcacter description of the Iron Man. Please look at Thursday’s instructions in the booklet. I personally think the descritpions in the book really paint a picture in the reader’s mind, so if you are stuck, refer back to the videos of the book. Today you are just describing what he looks like. Try to describe from his feet up to his head! Look at the booklet for examples and ways to uplevel. Please don’t get carried away and start talking about how he moves!

Don’t forget to leave some time to edit!

Spellings:

Today, your spellings are:

  • Guard
  • Guide
  • Heard
  • Height
  • Heart
  • History

Today, please practise these words by writing them in an exciting way, e.g: bubble writing, 3D writing, or even writing it in the colours of the rainbow.

Maths:

Today we are recapping our understanding around quarters and halves. They are fluency (green), reasoning (amber) and problem solving  (red) questions, so stop when they seem too tricky.

Computing

I am guessing that we are now spending a fair amount of time on computers during isolation. It is very important that we stay safe and use technology both respectfully and resposnsibly. Please follow the powerpoint to learn about digital footprints and how to be safe online. Once you have read all the information, have a go at making your own digital footprint, by writing/drawing the logo of all the websites you access.

Independent reading:

Please make sure you are reading for 25 minutes. If you can, write down what you think about it in your reading log.
