Thursday 18th June
Fact of the day:
Barbie's full name is Barbara Millicent Roberts!
Start your day off with some exercise. Choose either to follow the Joe Wicks live workout or a yoga routine from the Cosmic Kids Yoga link!
Reading for at least 20 minutes today, independently or to an adult. Don't forget, you can still quiz on books at home
Today we are going to focus on converting g to kg.
To recap, there are 1000g in a kg.
This means that 1000g = 1kg.
So, this must mean that:
2000g = 2kg
5000g = 5kg
What happens when we have 1200g? How can we turn that into kg?
Have a look at the picture below. We are going to use partitioning (we did this in September!)
As you can see, we have split the original number into its thousands and then what is leftover (usually a hundreds number).
We can then convert the thousands number into kg.
Have a look at a few more examples and then you are going to do some of your own.
