The Pupil Premium is designed to ensure that funding to tackle disadvantaged children reaches those who need it most. The funding is allocated to pupils from Reception to Year 6 who are eligible for free school meals, are Looked After or have parents currently in the Armed Forces.
From April 2012 the eligibility for the premium was widened to those who have ever been entitled to Free School Meals in the last 6 years.
Currently, primary schools receive £1,320 for each child registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years. Schools will also receive £2,300 for each looked-after pupil who has been looked after for 1 day or more; was adopted from care on or after 30th December 2005 or left care under either a special guardianship order or a residence order.
The school reviews it's pupil premium strategy every half term with the Headteacher, SENCO and Governors.
Families who receive certain benefits may be eligible for Free School Meals. Your child is eligible for free school meals if oyu are in receipt of one of the following benefits -
Registering for free meals could also raise an extra £1,320 per child to enable the school to fund valuable support like extra tuition, additional teaching staff or after school activities.
