Week of the 5th October 2020

Read below to find out what we are learning about this week!

Guided reading:

Learn about Egyptian gods before answering the comprehension questions below. Then learn the harvest poem, as it's our harvest festival on Friday.

This week we are writing a story from the point of view of a crane fly! We seem incredibly interested in this specific insect at the moment, so I am looking forward to reading these stories!

We are going to write the beginning, middle and end over 3 days:

You are no longer larvae!

What can you see?

How does it feel to have legs?

What are you going to do with your wings?

You suddenly get caught by a school child!

What are you going to do?

How does it feel?

What thoughts are going through your head?

You are finally released!

Is one of your legs broken?

Where are you now? What does it look like?

What is your plan to stay safe?

This week we are learning about subordinate clauses (these are a little like fronted adverbials).

This week we are looking at addition. Work your way through the PowerPoints and then have a go at the questions

This week, we are continuing to think about Jesus' family. Watch the video of Ruth before considering what thoughts must have been going through her head at each stage of her story. Then consider how you are like Ruth.

We are then going to make stained glass window drawings of either Joseph, Abraham or Ruth to celebrate Jesus' ancestors.
