School Day Overview
The following times apply to all children at the school –
Gates open 8.40am
Lessons start 8.55am
Lunch 12.00 – 1.00pm
End of day 3.15pm
If your child is going to be absent due to illness, please telephone the school office with the reason on the first morning of the absence. Any unexplained absences have now, by law, to be noted and are regarded as truancy and will be recorded as unauthorised. Alternatively, please download the App – Studybugs -to report your child’s absence from school.
If the child is visiting the doctor or dentist during the day, please send a copy of the appointment letter to the school office and inform the office both before collecting your child and on his/her return.
Government regulations state that Headteachers may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances. A Request for Withdrawal from Learning form is available from the School Office or school website. The Local Authority may issue a Fixed Penalty Notice for any unauthorised absences of 10 or more sessions (5 days) in a 10 week period.
We have several children who have a severe allergy to nuts, particularly peanuts, so we ask that no products containing nuts, peanut butter sandwiches etc., are brought into school.
It is a great help if you let us know in writing of any medical conditions of which we should be aware and also of anything which may affect your child’s behaviour or achievement.
