Good morning Year One!

We hope you are all well and are looking forward to a few days of learning from home again.

I look forward to seeing you all later this afternoon at 1 o'clock for a Zoom meeting. In the meantime, here is some work to get on with this morning.

PSHCE/Literacy

If we were in class, we would be beginning our day with a circle time talking about people who are special to us and why.

Talk to someone at home about who is special to you and use the word 'because' to explain what it is that makes them special to you.

As part of your conversation, think about how this person shows they care for you.

Draw and write sentences about at least two people who are special to you and give reasons why.

Maths

In mathematics, we will be consolidating telling the time at o'clock.

Here are a couple of songs to join in with:

Below, you will find a selection of worksheets linked to telling the time at o'clock.

Your child does not need to complete all of them!

The first sheets involve reading the time at o'clock and then drawing the hands on the clocks to show the relevant times.

*Please only print the first 2 pages. The pages from page 3 onwards are the answers.

If you are confident telling the time at o'clock- have a go at saying what the time is an hour or two hours before or after a given time:

Here are some clocks with 3 different times- What do you do at these times of the day?

There are also 2 challenge questions to have a go at:

Spellings:

Here are the spellings for this week.  Our focus is words that start with 'wh'.

Below, you will find some sheets that involve finding words with the 'wh' sound and writing these. There are different levels, select the one most appropriate for your child.

At 1:00pm we will have a phonics Zoom session, and we will go through the expectations for the science session.

If we were at school, we would be going for a 'summer walk' around our school grounds. We will be talking about signs that it is summer then drawing and writing about them.

Here is a song to remind us about the 4 seasons.
