21st January 2021 Thursday

We are doing a maths zoom at 9am. Please use the link in the email to take part in this.

Today we are switching our focus to division.

If you were unable to join the zoom, click on this link to watch a video on this topic:

and work through the powerpoint below before you try to complete the worksheet.

We are doing an English zoom at 10:30am. Please use the link in the email to take part in this. We will discuss how to turn your notes into a paragraph.

Today we are going to write paragraph three and four of our diary entry.

Make sure you have your plan out in front of you when you are writing - plans are made to help you!

Your paragraph today should be 5 or more sentences please. Make sure you are getting detail in there. When your writing is short, it doesn't give the reader much information.

Success criteria:

  • Adjectives
  • Adverbs (ly words)
  • Conjunctions (and, but, so, because, which)
  • Time connectives (next, later on, then)
  • Prepositions (behind, in front of, next to, behind, opposite)
  • Capital letters and full stops
  • Interesting sentence starters

See below for some magpie words (words you can use in your writing).

Today we are going to continue our work on coding.

Coding is where we give computers the information they need to make them do the things we see on the screen.

It's almost as if we are giving the computer a set of instructions so they can do everything right.

Just think - you would need to follow some instructions to make a cake or play a board game. It might go very wrong if you did one of the steps wrong or got them around the wrong way!

Have a look at this video:

Think of it as like a puzzle!

Click on this link - it will take you to the website you need! It will give you instructions on how to work the game.

Continue where you left off last week - you don't need to go back at start from the beginning. Click on the right number bubble at the top of the screen.

Please also use some time this afternoon to do some Nessy spelling.

Then type your name.
