Maths (Zoom at 9:00 am)

Now we have reminded ourselves of how to multiply 2 digits by 1, we will be progressing onto multiplying 3 digits by 1!

I know we haven’t done this before, but if we were going to have a wild guess, how do you think I would do it?

You just need to move along to the next column.

It should look something like this:

Have a look at the PowerPoint and then answer the worksheet questions.

Spellings:

In your handwriting book, please practise our spellings for the week. There should be a neat line of each word. Please try to join your letters and make sure your ‘r’ joins at the top!

  • Eight
  • Neighbour
  • Sleigh
  • Weight
  • Prey
  • Grey
  • obey

English (Zoom input at 10:30)

Today we will be making a sandwich to help us really remember the punctuation we need when using speech.

  • The bread represents the speech marks.
  • The butter is the capital
  • The meat is the speech
  • The garnish is the punctuation
  • The bread is the 99

E.g. "Let's learn about speech!"

Task: Have a go at adding the missing punctuation into the worksheet. You can check your answers below too.

Geography  (Zoom at 1:00 pm)

Rainforest Facts and Importance | Amazon Rainforest Animals, Plants and More

If I dropped you off here, how would you use the natural resources to help yourself?

There are tribes of people who permanently live in the rainforest. Flick through the PowerPoint to find out about how these tribes survive out in the wild and what resources they use.

These people in the rainforest have absolutely no idea what an oven is, a mobile, a laptop or even a mirror. Do you think that people living in tribes should be left alone, or do you  think we should make contact with them?

Here’s a few things to think about

Against:

  • They are happy and have considered ways to survive
  • They wouldn’t have any idea to work the technology in our world
  • They may be picked on for being different

For

  • They miss out on variety of food
  • If they get ill there are limited resources

Task: Fill out the debate sheet below. Use the PowerPoint to help you come up with ideas.
