Reading (Zoom at 9.30am)

Today we are going to continue to read High-Rise Mystery by Sharna Jackson. Chapters 4-6.

 English (Zoom at 9.30am)

For the next two weeks we are going to be thinking about, reading and understanding rap as well as writing our own about the Lockdown experience of 2020-21
This is an opportunity for you to express the highs and lows of the unique experience you have had as 9 and 10 year olds.
But first we need to understand and hear a bit of what rap is about.
During the Zoom lesson, Miss S will share with you what rap is and is all about.
We will also be looking and listening to some of the poems below( there are the lyrics and a video of the poet who wrote it reading it):
Cat Rap
Haircut Rap
Thinker's Rap
I wanna be a Star

On the sheet below, pick one of the above poems to write a review of, thinking about which one you enjoyed the most.

Here is Bill Bailey, the 2020 Strictly winner dancing to one of the earliest popular rap songs: Rapper's Delight

There is a sheet below that has lots of questions on, and a chance for you to share your own opinion.
