Maths (Zoom 9:00 am):

Today, we are going to continue to work on multiplying 2 digits by 1. However, today we will be carrying. This is very similar to the addition and subtraction methods we know, if the number doesn't fit in the place value column, we must move it to the next.

Have a look at the PowerPoint and then answer the questions on the worksheet.

Spellings:

Have a go on Nessy spellings. The link is below. If you need any extra support accessing this website, please let me know.

English (Zoom input at 10:30 am)

This week, we will be focusing on speech punctuation. When you are using speech, you need to use a new line. You do this to make it clearer.

So when one character has stopped talking and there is some form of punctuation to end it, a new line begins.

e.g.

"How are you?" asked Miss Heffernan.

"I'm very well, thank you," replied Mrs S.

Task: Have a look at the text from 'How to train your dragon.' Can you split the conversation into separate text messages to show when someone new is speaking? Use the text message template below.

Art

If you look at Tarsilla’s paintings she uses lots of techniques.

One of the most obvious is gently moving from one shade to the other by blending. She does this with a paintbrush, which is quite impressive! She also uses lots of curvy lines and rounded shapes.

Today, we are going to consider different techniques. If you have paints and would like to practise trying to replicate Tarsila’s art, please do, but if you would prefer to work in pencils or pastels that is fine. It might be tricky to use felt tip pens, but I’m sure you could manage if you needed to.

Task: Have a go at the worksheet below.
