Reading

We are still reading the text ‘The painter and the judge’. Today, I would like you to work on scanning. This is when you look at a text, but are looking for a particular word, so not ‘reading’ it, just looking quickly to find it. You did this yesterday with the word ‘judge’

Try today with these words. How many times can you find each one? You can use a highlighter or a felt tip to show where they are.

Do you know…?

Which continent is the smallest/largest?

Today you are going to find out the answer to five questions about China as we will be learning more about the country this term.

Write down the answers and I will ask for the answers tomorrow

  1. Where is China? What continent?
  2. How many people live there?
  3. What is the capital?
  4. What important place(s) could you visit in China?
  5. What colours are on the flag of China?

Can you find one more fact to tell us tomorrow?

Watch the video below to help you.
