Maths (Zoom input at 9:00)

We have been looking at multiplying 2 numbers together, now we are going to look at multiplying 3 numbers together.

What do we need to know?

When multiplying 3 numbers together, you need to multiply the first 2 first and then multiply that answer by the last number in the calculation.

E.g.

3 x 4 x 5 =

We need to work out 3 x 4 = 12

Then, we can work out 12 x 5 = 60.

It does not matter which order you multiply the numbers in. This is because multiplication is commutative, and it doesn’t matter which numbers we begin with, the answer will always be the same.

Have a look at the PowerPoint and then have a go at the worksheet.
