Monday 8th June

Fact of the day:

On this day in 1955, Tim Berners-Lee was born. He invented the World Wide Web!

PE:

Start your day off with some exercise. Choose either to follow the Joe Wicks live workout or a yoga routine from the Cosmic Kids Yoga link!

Reading:

Reading for at least 20 minutes today, independently or to an adult. Don't forget, you can still quiz on books at home!

Maths:

Today, we are looking at lines again. This time we are thinking about pairs of lines.

PARALLEL LINES:

Parallel lines are lines which are always going in the same direction BUT they never meet. Look at this picture:

Perpendicular lines:

Perpendicular lines do not go in the same direction. Instead, these are lines which meet and form a right angle. Have a look at the picture:

English:

This week we are going to do a series of reading tasks. Each day there will be a short text to read and 4 questions to answer. The answers are on the second page of the document.

Science:

Let's first recap what you learnt last week. You looked at why plants need different things. See if you can remember this and fill in the sentences on this sheet.

Now, we are going to think about the job of each part of the plant. Each part has a role to play. See if you can work them out before we go through them!
Now go through this powerpoint and read about each part of a plant.
