Henri Rousseau- inspired artwork
Year Four looked at the work of Henri Rousseau and found out that he never visited a jungle but used his imagination to paint the plants founds there.
So, we used our imaginations and the technique of sgraffito, which means 'scratched' in Italian. It is a technique used in painting, which consists of putting down a preliminary surface, covering it with another, and then scratching the top layer in such a way that the pattern or shape that emerges is of the lower colour.
