Fact of the day:

Your ears and your nose will continue to grow throughout your entire life!



Start your day off with some exercise. Choose either to follow the Joe Wicks live workout or a yoga routine from the Cosmic Kids Yoga link!



Reading for at least 20 minutes today, independently or to an adult. Don't forget, you can still quiz on books at home!


Today we are going to be comparing fractions. You are going to be thinking about whether a fraction is smaller or bigger than another fraction. 


Remember what we have learnt this week - So, when our numerator (top number) is 1, the BIGGER the denominator (bottom number), the SMALLER the fraction is!


When the denominator is the same on 2 fractions, we look to the numerator to tell us which fraction is bigger. 

Today, I would like you to look at the questions below, see how many you can complete in your purple books.


Today we are going to be focusing on homophones. We think about these a lot but when we are writing sentences, often we mix them up. The more you practice homophones, the easier it becomes to use them correctly in your writing.


Below is a list of homophone pairs or trios. You need to write a sentence for each one!


Here is an example of how I would like you to set this out in your purple books:

Meet / Meat

  • I will meet you at the park tomorrow to play football. 
  • I need to buy some meat in the supermarket for dinner.

  3. Here / Hear
  4. Break / Brake
  5. Fair / Fare
  6. Plain / Plane
  7. Male / Mail
  8. Night / Knight
  9. Piece / Peace
  10. Which / Witch

If you have written sentences for all of these, I would like you to think of any other homophone pairs or trios that I didn't list above (there are more!). 

Then, do the same as earlier - write a sentence for these homophones. 

Design and Technology.

This term, we are going to be making healthy snacks. Today, could you please look at the list of ingredients on the attached sheet, and think about which ones you think would taste nice in a smoothie. Perhaps stick to just 4 fruits, or it could get a bit expensive!!! When you have done that, can you design it on the sheet, drawing and labelling the fruits, so you remember to put them on your shopping list for next week. 

I will be putting a video on of my smoothie next week and then you can make yours and tell me what you thought of it. We could swap recipes!
