Friday 19th June 2020

Welcome to your home learning for Friday 19th June 2020!

Here you will find your tasks for the day. If you have any worries or concerns, you know where to find me.

Joke of the day:
Q: Waiter, will my pizza be long?
A: No sir, it will be round!

Fact of the day:

A pineapple is neither an apple nor a pine. It is, in fact, a large berry.

Please follow one of the links on the Year 4 home page to either Cosmic Kids, GoNoodle, PE with Joe Wickes or Smiling Minds. The choice is up to you this week! Make sure you stay fit and healthy.

Please make sure you are dedicating about 25 minutes per day to reading. Remember you can quiz at home too!

Let’s see what you know about the suffix –ion. Please get someone in your house to test you on these spellings:

  • Admission
  • Possession
  • Discussion
  • Progression
  • Confession
  • Impression
  • transmission

Guided reading:

Listen to Chapter 15 and then THINK about these questions:

  • Did you expect Tom to have a different response why?
  • Why do you think Tom said he couldn’t stop the balloons?
  • How could Finn have explained himself better?
  • What emotions do you think Finn would have felt at this stage?
  • Why is Dougie a hero?

Today you have a chance to edit your poem. If you are sending your poem off for the completion, you obviously don’t want any mistakes. Then take the time to write up your poem in your neatest handwriting. You can do a picture separately if you would like.

Let’s end the week be returning to our 11 and 12 times table. Only use the multiplication square if you are really stuck!

Black Lives Matter!

This afternoon, we are looking at a very important, relevant topic. Read the PowerPoint. It is important that you wait for a time when you can talk through the slides and questions with someone in your house.
