About Us

Welcome to St Peter's Catholic Primary School.

We are a Voluntary Aided (VA) school which means we are a state-funded school and the Diocese of Arundel & Brighton contributes to building costs and has an influence in the running of the school.  On 1st October 2022 we became part of the Bosco Catholic Education Trust.  We hope that this website provides you with the information that you are looking for but if you have any further questions then please do not hesitate to contact us.

Nestled near the centre of Shoreham, just a stone's throw from Buckingham Park, is our school.  We are a caring, single form entry school that has been wonderfully summed up by a parent as the "village school in a busy town".  You might not be aware of us - but we could be just right for you.

St Peter's is a happy school.  We nurture a calm and positive atmosphere within which to learn.  By getting to know each pupil well, we are able to challenge our children and inspire them to reach their full potential.  We do this through a dynamic and broad curriculum, meeting the needs and interests of all.  Across the year, we hold many trips and creative days focused on exciting and engaging the children.  We teach a wide range of sports, supported by specialist staff as well as participating in many local tournaments.

We offer a bright, open building with excellent facilities, including a large, well-stocked library run by the children and a new cooking area.  There is a large garden area, dedicated to Early Years pupils as well as an expansive, open field for learning and play for all.  We offer wrap-around care, clubs and activities before and after the school day.

Parent and pupil feedback is consistently positive and we were rated "Good" by Ofsted in the summer of 2018 - which recognised how we are always striving to develop further.  We have high expectations and, as a result, the children at St Peter's do well.  Our results have been consistently high for the past three years.  Last year, we were placed in the top 3% of schools across the UK for progress in reading, writing and maths at the end of Key Stage 2.  Our results are good, but not the most important thing to us.

To really find out what makes our school so special, please visit us and see at first hand.  If you wish to come and visit then please get in touch.
