English (Zoom input at 10:30)

Today we will be learning about conjunctions.

Conjunctions are joining words.

There are two different kinds of conjunctions.

Subordinating and co-ordinating.

Subordinating are used to add on an additional piece of information (like a fronted adverbial or embedded clause). The added information does not make sense on it's own.

Co-ordinating conjunctions are used to join two main clauses together. Both sentences should make sense on their own.

Join us for a quiz. Then have a go at making your own comic strip using as many conjunctions as possible.

Today, we will end the week by considering the different tools we can use to help us get back into/stay in the green zone. Some tools might need to 'wake you up' if you are in the blue zone, while others will need to 'calm you down' if you are in the red zone. Some tools may be applicable to more than one zone.

  • What tools do you normally use?
  • Why is it important to have lots of tools?

Here are some ideas:

You can have a look at the tools below and put them into the correct zones for you, or you can come up with your own tools.
