English-SPAG: Zoom at 9.30am

Today we are thinking ahead of our work for the next few weeks on writing a short story. We are going to revise how speech marks should be used correctly and accurately to show when someone is speaking directly in a piece of work. We will go through the rules and ideas at 9.30 on our Zoom, but there is some information below that might help you if you are stuck.

Activities you can either print or have up on your technology to help you with your work today. Here are the questions in today's lesson:

Maths: Zoom at 11am

Today we are continuing with our knowledge and practice of long multiplication, and specifically multiplying 2 digits by 2 digits.

There is no video for today's objective but the pictures below may help you.

The work is set on Google Classrooms- look at the questions, answer them on a piece of paper and then select the correct answers, it is out of five and I will be able to see how you do!

Music (Musician of the Week)

Every week we are going to get better acquainted with some incredible musicians with videos and activities.

This week we are learning about:  The Beatles

Have you heard of them before?

They are one of the most influential bands of all time, who were influential in Britain and across the world. The members of the band include John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They popularised a new way of performing their music and ways of recording which have influenced many modern day artists. Their way of creating music, helped set the course for modern electric music. We have a lot to thank them for.

Even if you don't recognise them, I guarantee you will recognise at least one of their songs!

Have a listen to one of their earliest songs: I want to Hold Your Hand, this clip is from their first appearance in the USA and they were incredibly popular straight away!

Have a look at the knowledge organiser below, to find out more about them. Once you have done that, have fun listening to this next song, you may recognise the tune from me singing it in the classroom. I wonder why it keeps appearing in my head. Enjoy, it is one of their most popular songs.

Here is one of the last performances in public by the Beatles, it is also one of my favourite Beatles songs. They changed a lot in the space of a decade, and what great fashion too.
