Look at our performance poem of 'Fireworks.'

We will be continuing to find out about space, go on a space adventure in the story 'Whatever Next' and make our very own 'Moon Buggies'. We will find out what is the best planet surface for driving our Moon Buggies on. Our topic planner tells you what else we will be doing.

Here are some Maths apps that you may want to try out with your children.

Here we are making jam sandwiches as part of our Literacy work on instructions. They tasted delicious!

Here is an example of the alien homes we made in class. We thought carefully about the materials we needed for windows, a bed and a table. Aliens called Zig, Zag and Zog visited us  from planet Blig visited and stayed in our homes.

In Maths we made the number 5 using two different colours of playdough.

Welcome to Year 1.

This term's topic is 'Out of this World.' We will be exploring the wonders of Space and the planets and finding out about a friendly alien. The children will be creating their own aliens and caring for them. We will be talking about...

Where do aliens live?

What do they look like?

How would we look after one on Earth?

What are the planets? How are they different?

What happens in a Space Station?

Many of the children's ideas and questions have been collated and will be used to plan for their learning this term.

Take a look at  the topic plan and the overview of learning for this half term.
